Clean radiators save fuel, save down-time and save money

The Cleanfix reversible fan system from Lynx keeps your radiators clean without the need to stop working.

Available as a retro fit for a wide range of agricultural, industrial, waste recycling and forestry machines and ideal for use with wide core radiators the Cleanfix reversing fan keeps your machines working and improves their efficiency by providing the optimal cooling and cleaning performance.

Why you need the Cleanfix fan

Most modern agricultural, construction, waste recycling and forestry machines are equipped with up to 6 radiators. The massive airflow required to meet their cooling requirement leads to high levels of dust and debris being drawn through the radiators and screens.

If left unchecked, this leads to overheating and reduces the efficiency of the machine. A tractor with a viscous fan will increase the fan speed to counteract the blocked radiator. However, this can use a further 5-6hp, reducing fuel efficiency and the useful power output of the engine.

The Cleanfix solution

The Cleanfix reversing fan counters this problem in two ways.

Reverse pitch cleaning
The fan blades of the Cleanfix reversible fan rotate on their axis to completely reverse the direction of the airflow. Unlike a far less efficient hydraulic reverse direction fan this can be activated at full engine revs (on most machines) and provides a much more powerful cleaning action due to the blade profile. This radiator purging can be activated using a cab mounted push button or an optional automatic timer leaving the operator free to concentrate on the task in hand.

In working environments where radiators have to be blown out several times a day, the cost saving achieved by this automation can be huge.

Variable pitch operation
The Cleanfix variable pitch system allows the cooling capacity - and hence power usage of the fan - to be varied without varying the fan's rotation speed. In a cool environment when the cooling requirement is low the eco fan will run at a minimal blade pitch to minimise the power requirement and reduce fuel consumption. As the cooling requirement increases so does the blade pitch, increasing the airflow without the need for an inefficient viscous-coupling.

Research carried out at Nuertingen University in Germany has shown that installing a Cleanfix fan can give a 6% reduction in fuel consumption and a 5kW increase in PTO power (Tests carried out on a Deutz 120 TTV tractor).
